Default What grease do you folks use on pistols???

Although I have, in fact, used oil on sliding parts of pistols, I usually use grease for slide rails, hammer surface, locking parts, etc. (Sparingly, where appropriate...)

For many years I have used Lubriplate 105, with excellent results. I also use it on the M1 Garand and my M1A. I've had a 35mm film canister full of it that is still going strong after a long time. A little dab'll do ya, eh?

Anybody use a grease-type alternative like wheel bearing grease, home-brew concoction, etc., etc.?

Been curious about this for quite a while and had some time on my hands tonight when I was also thinking about it.

I've used red n tacky on aks, I've tried white lithium, currently using brown lithium from work.... lol. I've tried mobil1 , royal purple, and Lucas oil additive, on guns in the past and imo it doesnt matter what you use as long as you have something on it and clean occasionally its fine

Same. Not because I think its probably the best lubricant in the world, but because I have a tub of it on hand. Stuff does do phenomenal work for long term storage though, doesnt it?

Bought a jar with a new Ruger Flat Top .44 mag. in 1960 still have both. It has kept my guns pretty much rust free, even the old Colt 1911 that I carried for years.

I use Lubriplate lithium grease, mainly because it’s a lightweight grease suitable for high pressure and temperature. Also because I have tubes of it around for lubing the drive bearing on my jet boat. A light touch on rails is all I use. It never gets sticky or gummy like cheap grease.
