Default Ruger Mark IV trigger coating + reshaping

I have a Ruger mark iv lite. I love the gun, but find the serrations on the trigger to be a bit rough and the edges of the trigger to be a bit sharp. It wouldn't normally be an issue except i take the gun out for extended shooting sessions.

I ordered a spare trigger because i didn't want to screw up the gold trigger that "matches" (close enough) the barrel shroud.

I used a dremel (i hate dremels) with a stone and sanding attachment to reshape the face. I ground off the serrations and rounded some of the hard edges.

Then I polished up the trigger face as best i could with the polishes i have on hand.

Now the trigger face is shiny aluminum. It doesn't bother me. But now to the heart of the question.

Is the coating on the trigger a paint/baked on finish or is it some sort of hard anodizing? I didn't remove any of the finish from the rest of the trigger. But i was just curious on the event that i wanted to refinish the entire trigger. I don't want my work to weaken the trigger.

The trigger is probably anodized. You can anodize in any number of different colors nowadays. If it were coated (Cerakote, Duracoat, etc.) that could, over a period of time, wear through, or if it was touching/rubbing something, that could cut through the coating also.

Plasti Dip. Comes in a variety of colors. That should be real easy on the finger.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.
