Default Pat Toomey not expected to run in 2022

According to this article Toomey is not expected to run for re election in 2022.

The political future of Pennsylvania Sen. Pat Toomey is unknown, according to a report today, indicating that he may not run for reelection or for governor of Pennsylvania in 2022.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reported the news Sunday, citing two people familiar with his plans.
While the 58-year-old Republican senator is expected to serve out his current term, he is not expected to seek another term or to run for governor, for which he was seen as a likely GOP candidate, according to the Inquirer.
Toomey is expected to make an announcement Monday morning, spokesman Steve Kelly said.

He has served in the U.S. Senate since 2011 and is now the only Republican holding a non-judicial statewide elective office in Pennsylvania.

If true, I hope the REPUBLICANS pull their head out their asses and service up a decent replacement. I mean right NOW!

Can*t say it*s much of a surprise. He barely pulled out the election in 2016 and if not for the Trump bump may well have lost. He*s got money, will collect an incredible pension and has the connections to do whatever he wants. Not a bad position to be in as a 60 year old in 2022.

Seriously, I hope the republicans can find someone the base can rally around. I do not want Pa to join the list of states with both senators who are democrat. There is a lot to dislike about Toomey when it comes to the 2nd, but he is better than McGinty or any other completely anti gun democrat.
