Default Are any counties taking apps for put of county license to carry

Philadelphia has a wait of over a year to even get an appointment and I would like to know if anyone can confirm if there is a county that will do it now? Bucks usually does but has stopped because of covid.

I thought you had to get a license from the county you reside, if you're a resident.

I know bucks used to do out of county. It specifically says on their sight that they have temporarily stopped doing out of county due to high demand

Sad for some, but true. Shame....
Many rural counties, like mine just last month, are drive up / drive away, no waiting, no appointments. SWMBO and I spent 20 minutes driving to the Sheriff's office, 15 minutes chatting while getting our renewals, 20 minutes back to the barn.

You probably couldn't pull it off in Philly, but others (elsewhere) have reported just showing up and asking if they have an opening and getting theirs without waiting months.

After waiting months for mine, I was surprised that there was NO LINE when I went to get mine last week.
The guy outside asked if we had an appointment, but didn't ask names or appointment time - "Come on in".

I would say that anyone with the time to risk being turned away, just go show up and see what happens.

You're thinking of "non-resident", which refers to those not living in PA. If you live in PA, you must, by statute, apply in the county in which you reside:

    § 6109. Licenses.

    (a) Purpose of license.--A license to carry a firearm shall be for the purpose of carrying a firearm concealed on or about one's person or in a vehicle throughout this Commonwealth.

    (b) Place of application.--An individual who is 21 years of age or older may apply to a sheriff for a license to carry a firearm concealed on or about his person or in a vehicle within this Commonwealth. If the applicant is a resident of this Commonwealth, he shall make application with the sheriff of the county in which he resides or, if a resident of a city of the first class, with the chief of police of that city.

Contact Dr. Val Finell at GOA, and get involved in the lawsuit against Phithy. They are still looking for additional plaintiffs as of last Tuesday. He*s also a member here, but I don*t remember his screen name...
