Cartridge Belt Recommendations
Getting a lever-action rifle as a travel gun, and am in the market for a cartridge belt, something I can keep in the trunk and throw on as needed. I've looked at a couple through Amazon and Sportsmans Guide to mixed reviews. This will not be something I use for cowboy action shooting at the range (Although that could be fun). The primary use will be for defensive purposes, so I need it to be reliable. Currently looking at Lonestar Holsters and Galco. I have experience with Galco holsters, but their product is twice the price of Lonestar's. Anyone have any experience with either of these, or with some other makes?
Not in dire need of it right now. Just trying to assess my options. Thank you in advance!

Don't forget Kirkpatrick! https://www.kirkpatrickleather.com/
There's a few leather guys at some of the bigger shows that make/sell plain yet rugged cartridge belts. I had a 50rd leather .41 mag 'bandoleer' made by one of them a few yeas ago.I don't speak English , I talk American!

Leather loops can corrode brass cases.

Re: Cartridge Belt Recommendations
I never heard of Kirkpatrick before today, but I like what I'm seeing! The cartridge belt of theirs I'm interested in is the most expensive of the three, but it can hold damn near 40 rounds by the looks of it, depending on caliber. Not bad at all. Their bandoliers also look pretty cool. It'll be nice having a rifle and pistol in the same caliber for traveling.
An excellent point, and one I had some indirect experience with years back. The belt would only be loaded with cartridges when we were on trips. I'd pull them free whenever we got home, both to keep that from happening and to spare the leather from getting stretched out.

That's the reason for nickel-plated cases! In addition to dampness , some of the chemicals used on leather back then was corrosive to metals.
Actually , The US military originally used tin-plated cartridge cases for this. Lessons learned during the Philippines insurrection.I don't speak English , I talk American!
