Default Is an AR Pistol Legal for Hunting in PA?

Is an AR pistol legal to hunt small game or varmint in PA?

I believe an AR rifle has been approved for groundhog, but was not sure about a pistol.

Read page 41 of the Hunting Digest. SMALL GAME:

    Arms & Ammunition
    1) Manually operated and semiautomatic 10-gauge or less
shotguns with a capacity of no more than 3 shells in the chamber
and magazine combined; 2) Manually operated and semiautomatic
rifles and manually operated handguns 22-caliber
    rimfire or less;
    3) Air-guns for small game in calibers from .177
to .22, for woodchucks at least 22-caliber, that propel a singleprojectile
or bullet. BB ammunition is prohibited. 4) Muzzleloading
rifles and handguns 40-caliber or less, and shotguns
10-gauge or less; and 5) Long, recurve and compound bows
and arrows, and crossbows. Single-projectile ammunition,
or fine shot pellets no larger than No. 4 lead, bismuth-tin, or
tungsten-iron, or other approved non-toxic shot or No. 2 steel.
There is no restriction on magazine capacity for semiautomatic
rifles used to hunt small game.
Note: Rifle and handgun caliber restrictions (except air-guns)
do not apply when hunting woodchucks.

AND FWIW, I hunt groundhogs with either my .223 bolt action Savage M10, or my .17 Hornet bolt action Savage M25.

Accuracy out of my .223 A\R is fine....but one ragged .223 hole at 100yds pretty much guarantee's a dead hog out to 350yds. If it's longer and the space is wide open, my 6.5x55 will do just fine. Close areas where ricochet is a concern, I use the .17 Hornet. Deadly little 25gr. pellet moving at 3500fps will shatter upon impact with anything.

He was specifically asking about animals OTHER THAN groundhogs.
