Question Cheapest Transfer Fees in Centre Region?

After an extended hiatus from PAFOA (following the platform change and my general disenchantment with online gun forums around that time), I'm back with a question. I'll keep it simple and won't rant about how much I think transfers should cost: where are the cheapest FFL transfers in the Centre Region? I currently know of:

    1. J&E Guns in Bellefonte: $35
    2. National Sporting Arms, the new place in State College: $35

Any other info would be much appreciated.

Don't just look at the price of a transfer, consider the Total Cost of Acquisition and include fuel/transportation cost and your time.

For example, I have a retired acquaintance who is a cheapskate of the first order and drives 38 miles to save 5 cents a gallon to fill his Subaru Outback. The Outback gets 25 mpg, and he drives 76 miles (minimum), consuming three (3) gallons. He purchases between 6 and 12 gallons. Buying between 6 and 12 gallons, he saves between $0.30 and $0.60 for his trouble, at an average cost of 9.8 cents per mile driven.

Those three gallons used by the Outback to get there and back cost $2.45 each, for a total of $7.35. Saving 5 cents a gallon, he would have to purchase 147 gallons to save the $7.35 spent on driving there and back. And that does not take into account wear and tear on the vehicle - oil life, brake life, tire life, etc.

I showed him the math, but he still does it, thinking he's saving money.

Extreme cheapness, like hoarding and pedophilia are some of the most difficult mental issues to treat.
Business owners are wise to eschew customers with those traits.

Truth! But in the case of stripped lowers (a metric on which I keep a closer eye), brick and mortar store prices usually don't come anywhere near justifying purchasing in-store. And many times it's the same brand lower or firearm. If I'm buying online, paying for shipping, paying for a transfer, and still saving $50, I feel pretty good.

But..the question remains, and thanks to those who post other transfer prices they know of.

My point in making the post is, depending on where you live in Centre, it may be less costly to pay more at an FFL closer, than drive to the far corner of the county to pay $% or $10 less.

That said, if you're close to State College at all, Ron Lutz (Xringshooter) is the man to handle the transfer, as member forty two recommended, but another FFL to consider in Bending and Mull in Philipsburg. IDK how much they charge for a transfer.

    Hi Gixxer,
You're right in that I haven't heard anything from you in awhile.
Goodman's Arms in McElhattan-Clinton County has transfers for 30 bucks. Unless you go to a friend's home who has an FFL, 25 to 35 bucks at a shop around our neck of Penn's Woods is the rate. 20 bucks for Ron Lutz is the lowest I have heard in a long long time and I think from where the OP lives, Lemont isn't much of a drive verses the other side of Lock haven where Goodmans is located. At least not 10 dollars in fuel costs if you're that cheap to factor it in!!!!!! I will say that Goodmans is a great little gun shop and he is extremely knowledgeable and has built some incredible guns for some guys I've talked to at Southern Clinton Sportsman's range. Sometimes extra money is worth the drive to check out other shops.

Another vote for Ron at Rons Gun Repair in Lemont. $20 the last time I was there. Ron has transferred quite a few guns for me, did some Cerakote on a Glock frame, and some gunsmithing. No issues.
