Check "Arms Unlimited" for their AU7 Drop in Rail. They're on sale for $40 but I bought a few from them awhile ago, way cheaper. Look it over, I got one for $25 plus shipping. I think it'll solve your problem and give you even more options.

I just bought one too to try, will this fit the bayonet lug on a WW 308? Trying to mount a magpul bipod to it.

Yeah! Bayonet lugs should be for attaching bayonets ONLY!!

Is there a bayonet that will attach to an M4gery's bayonet lug? I was told a bayonet would only mount to the lug on a full size AR-15, is that not right?

M7 and M9 both do. They don't "stick out" very much, especially with a 16" barrel + muzzle device, so functionally they are rather compromised. But they will both attach to the lug just fine.

There are light mounts that will fit a standard A2 style handguard.
