    Default Allegheny County Sheriff LCTF Backlog

    The sheriff's office posted on facebook they have new LCTF appointments booked out till March of 2021 and they're no long accepting new appointments. Is this in violation of PA's shall issue clause? My father is trying to get his LCTF but can't because of the sheriff's department's ineptitude.

    Who can we start complaining to? The sheriff's department clearly doesn't give a shit as they get murdered on facebook over it on every post they make. My state rep/senator are both anti gun so they won't care either. Who can I/we complain to? They're infringing on people's rights.

    From the Sheriff's Facebook Page

    Due to a large number of expiring licenses to carry, the Allegheny County Sheriff*s Office will be offering Renewal Weekends beginning on Saturday, September 19, 2020, through Sunday, October 4, 2020. If an applicant has a license that expired/is expiring in 2019-2020, you may participate. If your license expired prior to 2019, you will have to schedule an appointment for a new application.
    The weekends will be based on the first letter of your last name to ensure that the Sheriff*s Office can maintain social distancing among participants.
    The program will be scheduled as follows:
    * Last names beginning with A through C | Saturday, September 19, 2020
    * Last names beginning with D through G | Sunday, September 20, 2020
    * Last names beginning with H through L | Saturday, September 26, 2020
    * Last names beginning with M through Q | Sunday, September 27, 2020
    * Last names beginning with R through U | Saturday, October 3, 2020
    * Last names beginning with V through Z | Sunday, October 4, 2020
    Prior to arrival, applicants MUST submit their preapproval screening at sheriffalleghenycounty.com/ltcrenewals. On their respective day, applicants are asked to arrive between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM through the Fifth Avenue Archway of the Courthouse. All participants must wear a mask and Deputies will enforce social distancing while waiting. Furthermore, applicants are required to have their completed application upon arrival with $20.00 cash and a valid PA Driver*s License or ID. Upon exit, applicants are to exit via the Forbes Avenue archway of the Courthouse.
    You will be turned away if:
    * You have not registered for pre-approval at sheriffalleghenycounty.com/ltcrenewals.
    * Applicants whose last name does not begin within the parameters of that specific day, as listed above.
    * Those applying as a new applicant.
    * Those whose license expired prior to 2019, you are to apply as a new applicant.
    * If your license was issued by another county other than ALLEGHENY, it is considered a NEW application.

    The pre-approval form is illegal. Not accepting the application is illegal.

    Take a body cam. Record it. Get a lawyer. Profit.
