    Default SR 377 Constitutional Convention

There has been a push for Pennsylvania to sign on to the push for Congress call for a constitutional convention. It passed committee and is on the Senate calendar. This hasn't happened since 1787 when we formed our current government. In these trying times of divisiveness this would be foolish! Please contact your state Senator and ask they vote no if it comes up! FOAC stance and info HERE

I*m not sure I agree. It is a convention of the States, and the States as a whole are not liberal. In fact only a handful are.

Not only can amendments be adopted, but also an entirely new constitution.

Much of that Convention of States thing has been hijacked. In some of the possible adoptions are entirely new constitutions with NO right to keep and bear arms, one of which completely restrictions possession of weapons to police, licensed individuals, and the military.

While the majority of the states are conservative, there isn't a solid majority of possible conservative delegates. Odds are they will use the number of electors as the number of delegates. The states would likely be compelled to send a delegate of the same party as their is for their Congressional representation. Out of the 535 congressional seats, 251 are Republicans, 1 is Libertarian, 2 are Independent, 4 are vacant, and 277 are Democrat.

So, do the math on that. The USA could literally turn into the "New Colonies Under the Queen of the United Kingdom", the "Soviet Socialist States of America", or "North Cuba".

A bit confused.. I can't find this bill. It's potentially going to be brought up for a vote soon?

It is on the Senate Calender for Oct 5. Not sure if it's for a vote or for full Senate discussion.

Please click on the link in the OP's post and get an eye opening explanation about what a constitution convention can actually do to the US and our way of life. Folks, the "amendments" that are being proposed ARE A SMOKE SCREEN to what they really want.

    Not a bill, it's a resolution https://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs...type=R&bn=0377
