Walleye hunter- Good question. I worked the ranges at some really shithole places in the military. We used to drag out own stuff along or finish off extra ammo at the end of the day (It is almost impossible to return ammo once issued). When you get out of the military, you get a complete physical. The last time I got out the Doc asked when I had broken my right shoulder bone, as it was not in my records. He showed it to me on an x-ray. I said I was not aware of it. Apparently not a clean break, and it could have been from anything, but your comment makes me think about that.

I shot a 300 weatherby magnum once. One shot was enough. It was a custom light weight thing. Brutal.

    I shoot a lot of 30 caliber

    I lift
    I never miss a meal
I sometimes use it to put my shoulder back into correct alignment.

I went to a range event once where there was a 300 WinMag. No one wanted to shoot it so a buddy and I split up shooting all the ammo. Probably 30 rounds each.

I have a couple Finn Mosins I used to enjoy shooting a lot. 40 to 100 rounds a range session was no big deal.

    I don't consider 308 semi-autos to have a big kick.

The only unpleasant recoil experience I remember was sighting in for my first three gun match that required slugs. It was outside of hunting season and I didnt have much use for stockpiling slugs. I had to sight in my 870 and use it in the match with 3-1/2in slugs. Now that sucked.

I would say it does, when I started shooting trap (about 10-12yrs old w 12ga) it sucked and bruised me pretty bad the first couple of outings (used to go weekly)... after a while I built up a tolerance and didn't bruise/ hurt so bad.
