CETME scope mounting

After looking at all the options for mounting a scope on a CETME model C in 308 caliber I finally found one that is the least hassle to install, does not depend on a friction grip only, is reasonably priced and does not require any modifications to the gun or drilling holes in the thin sheet metal receiver. MFI is the company selling this.

This mount is very well thought out and of quality construction. It is long enough to take any length scope. It is nice to see that there are still company's who will manufacture a quality product. I gunsmith for a living and have been doing this for over 40 years. I see a lot of junk on the market. Especially from China. This is a small company but they have big pride in producing a quality product. 20200929_131713.jpg

I still wouldn*t trust it. They said even in testing, it to was sliding forward...so they made that anchor around the rear sight to stop forward advancing. I don*t know. It looks nice, and it*s not horribly priced. (Under $100, so that*s pretty good). I*m just stuck on *Bolt On*, or Welded type. But hey, good luck. Report back with holding Zero.

Depending who made it and how your receiver was made, you may have to use a drill press to cut one or two of the scope tabs flat on the bottom to keep the mount secure

Some receivers are manufactured improperly to the point they will not accept a mount, or the mount will impinge the receiver and not allow the BCG to move freely.

I have experienced all the above.

I used a MFI mount successfully for years with the scope tab correction.

B&T makes a very good mount also, but it is considerably more expensive.
