Private Ammo Sale
When selling ammo privately, does a seller have any requirement to check ID so that buyer is 18 to buy rifle ammo and/or 21 to buy pistol ammo?
The crazy things that pop up in my head.

Re: Private Ammo Sale
18 Pa CSA § 6302. Sale or lease of weapons and explosives.
(a) Offense defined.--A person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree if he sells or causes to be sold or leases to any person under 18 years of age any deadly weapon, cartridge, gunpowder, or other similar dangerous explosive substance.
(b) Exception.--The provisions of subsection (a) shall not prohibit hunting by minors under 18 years of age permitted under Title 34 (relating to game).
(July 8, 1986, P.L.442, No.93, eff. July 1, 1987)
Cross References. Section 6302 is referred to in section 6105 of this title.
In general must be 18+. Not aware of any non-resident issue. I believe the 21+ for handgun ammo only applies to FFLs.Last edited by tl_3237; September 22nd, 2020 at 12:36 PM.

Re: Private Ammo Sale
A lot of NJ and NY people come up here to buy ammo. I think the shops here restock on Sunday afternoons to give the locals first dibs...

Re: Private Ammo Sale
I'm new here and only joined this to sell some 6.5 grendel rounds. I have two 200 round hornady bthp packs. im making room in my basement and need a new plumbing system. Otherwise I would never do such a thing. Everywhere that I have searched online is out and I do not see it coming back in stock soon. What is a conservative number without me giving the ammo away? I appreciate the feedback.

Re: Private Ammo Sale
So Im not that computer illiterate. That is one of my fav sites.... I want to sell 2 of the cases. They are still factory sealed. I need money to put in new plumbing in my basement. I am a disabled Vet that lives on disability and it is miserable. So, I'm trying to sell the 2 cans of 200rds so I can have some cheddar for the new plumbing.

Re: Private Ammo Sale
So, it looks like they were about $1.00 a round pre-panic. Now in the neighborhood of $1.60-$1.75 a round.
Somewhere in between maybe? Depends on how fast you want to sell them I guess. Start at the high end. You can always go down.
