It wouldn't surprise me a bit if the lawyer was being paid by one of the anti-gun groups, who frequently fund doomed lawuits designed to whittle away at the gun industry. Kyle has become an icon, they'd pay money just to harass him.

In PA and other states with self-defense preemption, this suit would be tossed in the preliminary phase. A jury found that Kyle acted in self-defense, in a case that involved both these parties, by at least a preponderance of the evidence. Most states, guilt has to be beyond a reasonable doubt, but self-defense only requires a preponderance, just like in civil cases.

Kyle Rittenhouse hit with lawsuit from man he shot during 2020 Kenosha clash: 'Little bit of a shock'

"Gaige Grosskreutz, who testified he pointed a firearm at Rittenhouse before the then-teenager shot Grosskreutz and two others, is seeking economic losses, "damages for emotional distress, humiliation, loss of enjoyment of life, and other pain and suffering on all claims," and punitive damages."

    https://www.foxnews.com/us/kyle-ritt...ttle-bit-shock
"Astonishingly, the Kenosha Police Department, Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department, their supervising officials and police officers, and law enforcement officers from surrounding communities did not treat Defendant Rittenhouse or any of the other armed individuals(like Lefty?) patrolling the streets as a threat to the safety of themselves or the citizens they were sworn to protect. Instead, the law enforcement Defendants deputized these armed individuals, conspired with them, and ratified their actions by letting them patrol the streets, armed with deadly weapons(like Lefty was?), to mete out justice as they saw fit(like Lefty tried to do?)'"
They act like their scumbag ‘client’ wasn’t also armed and decided to try to take justice into his own hands. These are the kind of lawyers that caused lawyer jokes to get written. As was alluded to, they’re getting paid and therefore don’t care how stupid they look or how inane their suit is. Once again, the process is intended to be the punishment.

Estates of the dead can sue, but they usually have no politics, so they only sue when they can win.
