Oh, absolutely. There's always the price/value ratio going on. For me, a High Standard fit the bill. It's no Ruger or Smith in the style, fit, finish area, but even at like 45 years old, it looks and feels much better than a Rough Rider.

i had a ruger LCR 22lr DAO snub when they first came out and got rid of it after 2 or 3 outings... a couple of years back i found myself wanting a 22lr snub and decided to give it another go... looking back it was the right gun i just didn't realize it the first go-round. it's 8rds, it has a very respectable trigger as far as the needed heavier 22lr revolver triggers go, it is plenty accurate once you find the hold/ sweet spot to aim, reliable, very concealable and light if you choose to carry it (DAO helps here too), and with a crimson green laser grip it just gets that much easier for point and shoot in defensive role... oh and it's fun to shoot. just be sure to pick up a speed beez speedloader (best $40 i spent on this pkg) with a loading block - makes it very range friendly.

Ruger's new Wrangler is a price point pistol. Bought mine new, on sale, for 199.00. Its a mini Single Action Army and has very rudimentary sights but is fun to plink with. If you really want to step up your game, check out a Smith and Wesson model 617. Pricey but really a nice revolver. Adjustable sights, and quite accurate. I bought one many years ago for 235.00. I think the current price is closer to 700.00

Can’t go wrong with a ruger single six, but I have to say any semi 22 ruger with federal ammo has never let me down.

    Not a 22 mag but my 22LR revolver is a 1951/1952 H&R 922 6" pencil barrel.
H&R revolvers used and in good mechanical shape are still out there and under the price of the new Ruger Wrangler. Just make sure the timing is good in DA and they lock up tight.
Of course if you want a new pistol, I would lean toward the Ruger Wrangler. Compared to the cheap Heritage Arms revolvers, the Ruger is hands down constructed better.
Engineers make things idiot proof! Evolution makes better idiots!
