Re: I need some suggestions
If I could go back and do it over, for what I spent? I’d buy a Ruger wrangler. Just not many options out there for a 22mag SA revolver at a decent price(I only bought mine for small game since I can’t legally use my Victory in PA to hunt), especially right now...
It’s not a terrible gun per se...if you get a good one they are great for the price. I actually like the ergonomics of mine. And at 10-15 yards is pretty accurate once you bend the front sight a bit. It works great with 22lr, just not with 22mag. Quality control though is really suspect. It’s a pot metal pistol with a lifetime warranty, but you’ll spend just as much for shipping to warranty it as you spent on the gun...
Buy once, cry once...

I have not had luck with Taurus .22 revolvers. If you want to avoid DA/SA revolvers north of $500, there's always the Charter Arms Pathfinder. They come in .22 LR and .22 WMR. Like all others, they're hard to find at the moment except on Gun Broker. I can't personally speak to their reliability, but I've had good luck with other Charter Arms revolvers.

I have a rough rider. No issues, but only 50-100 rounds through it. I wish it didn't have a safety. I have a 1949 Ruger Standard pistol. Great gun. Also have a Ruger SR22. Hundreds of rounds through it. One of my favorite pistols.

Like most, I say Smith & Wesson or Ruger. DA or SA your choice and don't over look the J frame Kit gun but the Model 63. AND DO NOT BE AFRAID to go into the used market! A well cared for used gun will serve you every bit as well as a new one! BTW as far as semi-autos go I have a High Standard Model 107 that is now pushing 50 years old with literally hundreds of thousands of round fired through it sent in for repair once to replace the ejector. Buy quality, you won't regret it!
