Default Non resident LTCF for Delaware

I currently only have a PA LTCF and a PA resident. My family and I goto Delaware a lot. I know Delaware doesnt recognize a PA LTCF, which state's non resident permit do you recommend that Delaware recognizes, preferably one that's easy to get.

FL and UT both offer what you seek but either one will include some sort of class and a certificate. The FL license requires some shooting IIRC but the UT does not. Classes are not hard to find. I don't know for sure but I have head that an NRA class on hunting suffices for FL, if you've ever taken one.

Damn that Utah one looks pretty complicated.

The class is one morning and the class producer usually offer photos and fingerprints at the class. Some include it in the fee, others do it a la carte. There can be fairly large differences in price for class so shop around. I got mine at King's Shooter Supply in KoP, they run them on a regular basis (they used to anyway and still might).

Just do the Utah class and you're set and you'll be happy. It's worth it. I got my Florida as well just to overlap since states change their reciprocity from time to time.

If you go a lot it's probably worth it. Don't forget you can OC in most situations in Delaware without a license, so there's that option too.

Yes, when we cross into DE, I take mine out of my pocket and put it on the dashboard in center.

DE does not call out carry in a vehicle separate from concealed carry, so a vehicle is just another place. Some recommend the dash (ummm, no thanks) or the passenger seat so popo can see it on approach.

I had an encounter with a nice young trooper a couple years ago right by Dover Speedway. My 2 stainless mags for my 1911 were clearly visible on my left hip when I leaned to the glove box for papers. He asked what I was carrying. I said 1911. He asked "Right hip?" Yes. "OK." He did say as he handed me the citation (clocked me at 84 in a 65, cited me for 70 - yes sir, thank you sir, where do I send the check) that he would have *preferred* if I had said something first. I would have preferred it not being a thing, but......

    My 2¢
    YMMV
    IANAL
    etc...

Never did this since I don't travel to Delaware, but if I did I'd hook a separate holster than what I'm carrying through the passenger seatbelt and leave that rigged up and on the seat. Obviously this wouldn't work with a passenger riding up front.
