    Guys,

It's been a tough day today. My dad died this morning. He's known about an aneurysm for a year or two, but because of the bad location, his kidney problems and other issues, he and his doctors decided that it would be more dangerous to operate on it than to let it ride. So they let it ride, and his ride ended suddenly today.

Last week I invited him to the shoot, but he declined because he hasn't been feeling well. When I brought him to this shoot 2 years ago, we discovered that his Winchester 44 Mag lever-action carbine is a most magnificent pumpkin-slayer. He was going to let me borrow the Winchester for tomorrow.

I gathered up his carry guns today. They were scattered all around the house, by his recliner, by the bed, near his computer, all over the place. And plastic 35mm film canisters filled with personal defense ammo. And holsters. I've never shot most of them. I'm bringing them tomorrow.

    S&W Model 60 38 Spl 2"
    NAA Pug .22 LR
    Walther PPK 9mm
Bond Arms Defender .357 Mag Derringer
Bond Arms Defender .22 Mag Derringer
    Colt Defender .45 ACP
    S&W Air-Lite SC .357 Mag
    S&W 34-1 .22 LR 2"
    Springfield XD 9mm
    Colt Mustang .380 ACP

I'm also bringing the .44 Winchester, a beautiful Browning .22LR lever action that I didn't know he had, his Mini 14 ranch rifle, and his Colt Python .357 8".

It would make me really happy to share these with everyone.

That's a shame, sorry to hear about your dad. You really never know when these things can happen.

Looking forward to seeing the collection, I'm sure they'll be enjoyed.

Scruff, I don't know how or why you are coming tomorrow, but know that you are among friends who are here if you need to vent.
So very sorry for your loss.

Scruff, I so sorry to hear of your fathers passing. I remember meeting and talking with him that day

    Thanks for your sympathies.

Why come? The last thing my dad and I did together was a range trip to PMSC a month ago. He was more than willing to loan me his Winchester for tomorrow. And when I took it back, we would have spent a while talking guns and politics. It would have made him happy for me to shoot his guns, so it'll make me feel good going through with it.

And the carry guns too. My dad wanted me to have his guns, but I'm only going to keep a fraction of them. There are too many of them. I don't have the space. I don't keep guns that I don't shoot. I'm not really a revolver or Derringer guy. And my stepmother is on a fixed income, she can use the money. So I'll be selling a lot of them soon. It'll make me feel good to bring some of them out before I put them up for sale.

    And bacon.

Holy crap. I wore shorts to work in all week until today.
Looking at the forecast, you pansies may really need a burn barrel in the morning!

    LOL

I wanted to swap out a stock to try my A1 length stock but I can't find my cheapo armorer's wrench.
I could bang on it with a screwdriver and a hammer to get the castle nut off, but if someone has a wrench they could bring tomorrow, I'd appreciate it.

With current ammo prices being what they are, if someone wants to bring a press, I'll probably have time to reload with all the not shooting I'll be doing.

On my way. Stopping at Oakmont Bakery for MBDs.

The bakery is selling Trump and Biden cookies. Trump is outselling Biden 3 to 1. I'd buy a dozen, but they're expensive. If anyone has $24 burning a hole in their pocket, let me know ASAP and I'll buy a dozen.
