Non-Resident Options for Delawareans
Greetings, folks!
So, over the past year or so, Lancaster and Media have both stopped issuing non-resident LTCF's... are there any nearby counties which are still relatively friendly that will issue non-resident permits to us Delaware folks?
Thanks for any guidance!

Re: Non-Resident Options for Delawareans
Rob - My last renewal was painless at the Berks Co substation at the Reading airport. That was last year though. I am also a DE resident like you. And an occasional poster over on your board!

That's awesome!
Thanks for the info -- it's greatly appreciated. And glad you still visit the DELOC page... We've mostly moved over to Facebook, but we still post on the forums as well.
Take care and be safe!

Re: Non-Resident Options for Delawareans
I agree, the best option would probably be Berks which isn't a terrible drive. Call first to confirm everything you plan to do. Could you please let us know how it goes once you've completed the process?

Re: Non-Resident Options for Delawareans
My PA license is still good for another couple of years, but I run a concealed carry training business in Delaware... we do the training for our home state, as well as Florida, but we also like to give folks solid info on options to get their PA license. That being said, I'll advise folks of this option, have them confirm by calling as they go through the process and have them get back to me so I can update the forum as well.
Thanks, folks!

Re: Non-Resident Options for Delawareans
After a quick check of the website, it looks like it is now a combination of mailing an application and going in person for an appointment to finish up the process
The *call first* advice is spot on!

Out of curiosity, where are you seeing that? I'm looking at their webpage:
https://www.co.berks.pa.us/Dept/Sher...plication.aspx
And it indicates that you must apply in person... I want to make sure I have the process straight -- thanks for the info!

Looks like it is one level up in the heirarchy. Let me see if I can send this link properly.

Re: Non-Resident Options for Delawareans
Most of the PA counties have implemented special Covid rules for getting or renewing your LTCF. There is no standard and some of the hoops you have to jump through change daily.
I'd definitely call the sheriff before doing anything.
