Years ago a friend bought a 375 H&H. He was afraid of the recoil. He held the butt to a wooden telephone or electric pole. I told him not to do it, that he was gonna wreck the stock. Stock was broken and had to be replaced.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

Many years ago (teenagers), my friend broke bones in his shoulder shooting a 12 ga with the back of his shoulder against a tree.
