That might 'splain why I didn't see any 9mm. Did they have a lot of other ammo? They did couple of weeks ago. Did you get any tannerite while you were there? And they seemed to have a decent selection of powder, I didn't look for primers.
For rifles, they had plenty of hunting rounds, but no .223 or 7.62. I didn't look around much since the family was hungry and waiting in the car. It was a commando raid to buy a 30-30 die set on our way to Cracker Barrel.

What brought you to the wrong end of the state?

I agree, but I can't figure out what is coming. Anyone have a crystal ball?

I am prepared for most short term things, but I need to prioritize my spending toward the most likely things that will happen. Outside guns, water and food, does anyone have any suggestions?

For canning and pickling, there is canning salt, it has no additives and tends to leave canned goods less cloudy. Iodized salt is what many people use for table salt tend the iodine helps certain folks stay sane. Sea salt is unrefined salt derived from ocean waters.

I have a mixture of salts, including rock salt in 25 and 50 lbs. bags. If buying large bags of rock salt(snow melt) make certain that it is NaCl only. Any salt(NaCl) will work for curing meats or canning, however, additives like iodine can make canned goods turn odd colors and leave residue in the bottom of the jar/can. Iodine will eventually dissipate from iodized salt but it will still be useable.
