Given the cost of ammo these days ( I suppose I havent checked in a while), I decided to do an ammo inventory.

I found a couple boxes of ea except for that blue plastic ammo and plastic cored X39. I must have gotten more of that cause it was cheaper.

    That should hold me over.

My wife saw me counting those rounds and called me Levon.
Not sure where that came from. Ha.

Anyone one else doing the inventory?

Yes, I know some of you have a spread sheet of ammo on hand and ammo expended. I was never that organized.

Na but I emptied an ammo can into some mags yesterday and they're in a different ammo can.

I inventoried back in June and found my purchasing habits 4-5 years ago were a lot more than I had initially recalled. Topped off .40 S&W JHP and 12ga. GTG.

I started keeping an inventory a couple of years ago when the three tin can safes were stacked with filled ammo cans.

Now I keep an inventory inside each safe and update when needed in Excel.

I was going to do it a couple years ago.
I was finding unopened boxes here and there.

The UPS guy asked me if I stopped shooting.
That brought a smile to my face.

Now that the thread is hijacked a bit or at least off topic, how secure is your ammo stash even if its minimal?

I don't have a safe specifically for ammo but do keep most of it in a decently sized lockable gang box.

In order to bring this thread back around, yes, I can still afford to shoot but have slowed down considerably and shifted primarily to rifles.
I started getting 10mm reloading supplies but haven't done a lot of that yet.

I do like shooting like this on rare occasions.

I use the ammo can method of hiding from myself what I have. It makes for great fun when preparing to go shooting. Maybe I should switch to pinatas?

Time is even in shorter supply than ammo for me. At my current rate a box will be a life time supply. That need rectifying.

Some is in the safe, some is in an adjacent closet, some is in another closet across the room, some is in two different closets upstairs, some is in the room where I don't do any reloading but could if I wanted to. Once in a while I grab a box and move it to another location for some unknown reason.
