Wife told me a few days ago, "You should order more ammo."

She's funny, that's why I keep her around.

"Whatever it is, it's not enough." - No truer words have been said about keeping excess ammo in stock.

I haven't seen them for sale since 2015 when Midway was selling them as overruns..

    I ordered 500.
30 cents a piece would have turned me off 3 months ago.

Our armory had an indoor range but only .22 was allowed, we had kits for our M16's, Bolt and magazine, that was it, swap took 1 minute. Relaxing way to spend lunch. I'm looking for one for my new sportII, will be my xmas present to myself .
While cleaning the cellar last month I came across 8 boxes of federal .22's in 550 rd size, used to take my son and daughter, pre-teen and a couple of their friends to the range with yard sale 22's I found, single parent kids with just a mother. Bag of balloons, stack of targets, cooler full of soda, munchies and a 550 round box of 22's, kept em busy for 5 or 6 hours. That was 20 years ago, price on the box was $5.50 from the local hardware store in town, mid to late 90's.

Most companies won't even take back orders. So i placed an order. At least going into it, I knew it was backordered. If they were just up front all of the time, I'd have less so complain about.

Anyway, the cheapest american ammo i saw (yeah, I'm a snob) was .24 cents per round for aluminum case ammo. That of course is before tax.

The backorder is estimated to be 1-3 months. My advice, swallow your pride and take what you can get. Things aren't getting any better.

I just checked my Optics Planet order. The Sierra bullets that were shown in stock are now 7 weeks out. I'm hoping for Christmas, but I'll settle for Easter, LOL.

The in stock/back order/keep changing timelines.

A QD mount for a can. Ordered two when showing in stock, waited and they never arrived, backorder kept changing dates and after a bunch of emails and a phone call I got them to cancel my order. No way to do business. Be honest about stock status and back order dates.
