I've acquired a few over the years, returning from the field, exercises, etc. The sport II came with a 30 round pmag, have not tried it yet. Palmetto has a 7 pack D&H 30 round pack with a single gun case for $119. Have not bought anything for it yet. Getting ready to order dies in a week or two.

PMAGs and USGI have both been proven reliable. I prefer the aluminum mags myself. Maybe because I'm a semi-old fart.

My son was Marine infantry, in MSOB, and also an armorer. At the time he was in, PMAGs weren't approved. He was told they had swelling issues in extreme heat. Right after he got out, they adopted them for use. Maybe that had something to do with the Gen 2 vs the Gen 3?

The Gen 3 PMAGs did the best in the Army's latest magazine test with M855A1 ammo, but they still want to use their enhanced M3 magazines. The Air Force switched to PMAGs after the test results were known.

I've only had one magazine failure with a PMAG and none with a USGI. I don't shoot 1,000's of rounds per year but I shoot enough to see reliability. I don't think you could go wrong with either one.

I've got a LOT of 20rd USGI mags. I've got an assortment of 30rd mags. From USGI Okay to British Radway Green steel mags , some Magpul , Brownells , Bushmaster , and who knows who. And 2 60rds Magpul drums.

I have a stack of Amend2's since I started to get back into shooting. Not an issue with any of them so far.

I use Magpul gen 2 and 3s and Hexmags for the most part, like both of them, never had any issues with them. Been wanting to try the Amend 2 and D&H metal mags, just for something different.

The only AR mag Ive ever had a problem with was a C-Products mag, one of their 10 round mags. It would FTF the last 2 rounds every single time.
