Happy to report that this thing is working out great. Used it to drag my 2 deer loaded onto my sled into the bed no issues. Pulled a total weight of over 320 pounds up the ramp and into the bed. Was glad to have this setup.

    Nice.
But the redneck method got a chuckle out of me. Just don’t drive too far forward, otherwise, the deer will mangle the pulley.

Yeah that method just doesn't work for me. Theres no poles or posts to tie off to. As a side note, I had this installed in my 2017 tundra with the 6.5ft bed. I traded that truck in for a 2019 ram classic (previous body style) with the 6.5 ft bed. I had to pull one of the eye bolts out and trim about 1/4" off to clear the tie downs and shorten the 2 2x4s, otherwise it fit. Total time to remove from the tundra was less than 10 minutes. Once I shortened the 4x4, it took about the same amount of time to reinstall in my new truck.

Tree might work. Might take a mile of rope.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

We just use the Cub Cadet tractor with front end loader that we have on the farm.

I would too if I had access to one. Back in the day my grandfather would drive the farmall c up the atv trails and drag them down the mountain using that.

In years past, before the front end loader, we'd drag them back to the farm with a tractor, truck, or 3-wheelers if we couldn't wrestle them up into the bed of the truck.

Back then my cousins, and even my uncles, were much younger and stronger. There was usually someone around to help lift a deer into a truck bed. It wasnt anywhere as bad as moving a cow/bull that we shot in front of the barn ramp to slaughter. Moving a 500-1300 pound dead cow is a real MF'er without mechanical help.
