Holster availability consideration when purchasing handgun ?

When purchasing a handgun that you intend to use for carrying as protection and not just using as a range toy.
How many of you base your purchase on holster availability for that model of handgun ?

For the few handguns I have that own; that I either currently do use, or plan on the possibility of using, as an everyday carry handgun.
I first checked if the holster model I like is available for that handgun.
If holster model was not available; then I did not buy that handgun.

Am I mostly alone in basing handgun purchase on holster availability ?

Mine were after the fact. I was fortunate to live a short drive from C. Rusty Sherrick, who pretty much had a holster mold for everything and made high quality holsters. This was ~ 8/9 years ago the demand was not that crazy and he turned it around in about 2 weeks. I have 3 of his holsters. He moved out of the area, retiring to his cabin in northern PA. Seems like he's still in business, though

Holster availability is never a consideration when I purchase a handgun. Worse case I have to make one.

I don't but I'm pretty well satisfied with what I have at this point and am not buying more. It sounds like a good thing to take into consideration though. I suspect that if I suddenly decided to carry my Sig P210-6 I might have a tough time finding one for it.

No. Not all holsters are firearm specific. I have a number of holsters that will accommodate more than one pistol.

As a lefty, I usually see what my options are first before purchasing any handgun. I know that worst case i can get one made for it.

All I carry are Glocks or M&P's and your always going to find a holster for those.

I don*t consider holster availability when buying a handgun. I don*t carry handguns that aren*t police trade ins because "just in case" evidence storage isn*t up to my standards.

I got rid of a Beretta 92A1 9 years ago for two reasons. One was the lack of holsters. The other was the slide-mounted safety.

I bought a Sig P320 Carry with a Romeo optic, knowing there were very few holsters to fit the optic. I bought a custom leather holster for it.
