Do you shoot your new gun first day?

Other than some safe queens and investment pieces, I always take a new one into my woods for a little demo. I have a nice ravine with high berms around two sides. Properties are spread out so no neighbor complaints....ok, maybe a few over the years but more curiosity to see what I brought home.

Then a good thorough cleaning and usually set a date to go to a range with a buddy or two.

...I usually crack a lager, fondle her, push all her buttons and explore every crevasse and orifice... to develop my muscle memory. Lastly, I*ll make sure she is well lubricated, but not too wet so as to make a mess.
