Default The 2020 ammo price tracker thread

Here's a thread committed to tracking the price of the most popular calibers, as we approach the 2020 general election.

I was prompted to start this thread after searching Gunbroker.com for .223/5.56 ammo. One auction that closes today, for 100 rounds of American Eagle XM 193, 55 gr., FMJ, is up to $72.00 + $20 S&H. That is 92 cents/round delivered. 95 cents/round if paid by credit card.

    Another auction for 1000 CCI Mini Mag .22 lr., 40 gr. RN, is up to $130 + $15 S&H, 14.5 cents/round.

Last example for today, 1000 rounds of Fiocchi 9mm Luger 115 gr., FMJ is up to $756 + $40 S&H, ~80 cents/round. This auction ends tomorrow.

The crazy is strong with this market.

If this keeps up it'll be cheaper to operate a .50 BMG.

That will teach you to use odd calibers for hunting.

Same with ammoseek.com. Much of what's listed isn't in stock either, or you click on a .30/round link and you get 2x that.

9mm FMJ will be $1/round by election day.

I had a buddy grab 1000rds of .223 for $700 this weekend, which is insane. I felt bad about spending $250 on 500rds.

Federal has had ammo on their site as it comes through. I bought 20 boxes of 9mm Federal Eagle for $400 shipped, which at the time I kind of regretted spending that much, but feel better about it knowing how high the prices are going. By the time it gets to me I could probably sell half of it and get my money back.

They have .223 in stock (as of checking last night) for .70 a round (they raised it from the .65 it was), which is $14 a box.

I just couldnt spend that much on ammo. Just gotta keep your eyes open and snatch any deals up as you can find them.

A 300 round lot of Frontier XM193 got bid up to and sold for $320 + $19.95 S&H, on Gunbroker, that's $1.13/ round. WOW!

Ive noticed gunbroker flooded with Frontier boxes the last week, the week before that it was a lot of Barnauls, which is what I ended up with.

The Frontier is iffy in my mind. Ive seen lots of ARs blown up from Frontier ammo.
