Default Value of WW2 bring back walther ppk with bring back papers?

hi guys, my grandfather has recently been transferred to a nursing home and my dad has been going through his house trying to get money raised to pay for said nursing homes. Found a number of nice firearms but there is this walther ppk he brought back from the war. Perfect shape except a slight amount of holster wear by the muzzle. It is NAZI marked i beleive. I see values of these types of guns ranging from hundreds to thousands. I need help getting it properly identified. If anyone could point me in the right direction my dad and i would be very greatful. I have pictures that i can email or text if need be.

I'm interested as well. My grandfather and his brother each brought back a ppk in 32. The plastic grips are not in good shape. One is Nazi marked. The other is not. Both have bring back papers.

A WW 2 bringback with documentation greatly increases value to a collector. You need to let google be your friend and find a dedicated collector's forum for Walther pistols. Post photos of both the pistol and paperwork.

It makes me sad that you have to resort to selling it rather than keeping the piece of history in the family.

Wish I could afford to buy it with the option of selling it back one day.

Can't speak for the OP but I'm not selling for a variety of reasons.

Legacy Collectibles (right here in PA) does appraisals. They have a YT channel with loads of information on WW2 pistols. Contact them for an idea on value.

This one sold for over $10,000 due to it being a party leader's gun. Identifiable by the grips.

Most of the others I saw on Gunbroker were in the $1500 to $2000 range with a Nazi police selling for $2500.

Like anything, something that makes it more rare makes it more valuable. As others have said, check the Walther collectors and appraisers to determine if it has some type of extra value. Otherwise figure the above prices for a standard bring-back. I should add that those prices include correct holsters so if yours doesn't have one, the price will be lower.

Thanks for all the replies! I got in contact with the owner of legacy firearms and he valued the gun at $4000. He offered to purchase it for 3500. Im going to try and convince my dad to hold onto it rather than sell it. They already have enough money for my grandfather to be there for 3 months. Unfortunately, i dont think my grandfather will be there that long.

    Sorry about your grandfather.

That's a pretty good value, and a real one considering you have an offer! Could you post pictures?
