Since I got into the NFA game I wanted to put a can on my 45-70. The Hybrid was just too loud, the Bowers too heavy, and the Griffin Optimus just wasnt what I wanted. Some careful planning I decided Form 1 was the way to go and build to my specs. I knew I needed at least 1.75OD and it was going to be long, and long sucks for hunting. I got the stamp last October and just kind of let it sit as I had other builds and things to blow money on. Now here it is.

Mount is a Griffin Taper 2 Port Brake Bored to .458 spec. This was done before Griffin made .458 muzzle devices. Everything except for the extension was purchased from either Super Precision Concepts, Pure Performance Armory, or Muted Machineworks. I machined the 3in extension myself on my 12x36 lathe as well as bored all the cones. The cone clipping was done on my knee mill. Shown are the cones from just the main section. There is another 4 in the extension part.
