1,000 yd BenchRest match at Thunder Valley Precision
Final 1000 yard benchrest match of the year and I finally shot a good enough group to win. Winds and conditions have been very challenging this year.
My winning group was 6+ inches, still not a personal best which stands at 5+ inches with a 100% factory Ruger Precision Rifle in 6.5 Creed and my own reloads.

Any hints on what bullet and powder you run, without going into any secrets ?

No secret but my load works in my gun not all guns. Brass prep is key to consistency.
Hornaday 140gr ELD-M, Lapua brass, 46.2 gr H4350, BR4 primers. I do not use a progressive press. Redding type S dies with neck bushing. LE Wilson case cutter and chamfer tools. And a very precise powder dropper. And a very prcise dial caliper not one from Cabelas.

Congrats on a great shoot! How*s your load compare to off the shelf ammo, ever shoot them side by side?

Hell yeah! Nice job! I'm contemplating a trip out there for some long distance training. Anyone have any feedback on them for that?
