First with the stock buffer. Got the gun sighted in and then switched to the new magna buffer.

It definitely works. It came set almost all of the way in giving the most resistance. It really reduced the recoil. I turned it in the remaining half turn and this was enough to cause intermittent short stroking. Backed the screw back out and it resumed functioning normally.

I'm thinking that last turn is pretty sensitive. But I'm definitely going to get another one. Probably the h1 weight so that i can run it hopefully without it being all of the way screwed in.

Reduced recoil, huh? I'm gonna look at this. My primary rifle is 7.62x39 and since I can't shoot it as much as I'd like right now, I'm spending money that would normally go to ammo on upgrades to make it more pleasant to shoot when ammo is available again.

If you get one, I'd like to know your thoughts on it. I'm impressed so far. But i have less than 100 rounds into it.

I'm considering this and the silent captured spring/stealth recoil spring buffers by armaspec and JP

Unfortunately, you can't use both together.

I meant one or the other haha. I did end up buying one in the standard weight since I'm going to have an adjustable gas block. Once I can consistently source inexpensive 7.62x39 again, I'll have a much more pleasant rifle to shoot. Hopefully soon.

Somewhere along the line I made a video with the JP silent, running it through 6 different AR's from carbine to midlength, to rifle, each with a standard spring and a JP so you could hear the difference. I'm thrilled with mine. I'm certainly going to try one of these once the reviews come back here.

My buffer shipped and as luck would have it, won't be delivered until Monday. I wanted to shoot on Sunday but I guess I could go after work Monday or Tuesday.

I'm definitely curious to know how you like it. Which one did you get?

I ordered the standard carbine and just got a second h1 that i want to take out tomorrow night.

So is there any kind of coating or something that keeps that adjustment screw from spinning freely, or can you really adjust it with a key like in the video?

So... I'm not sure. Here's why.

I have the proper 8mm Allen key.

But the first one (carbine) i got had no thread locker of any type. I was told you can use blue if you want but that the screw shouldn't back out because it is always under tension.

The second one i got (h1) has some sort of red marking in the threads. Not sure if it is machining dye or what. It took a little more force to get there set screw to move. But once it moved, it now moves freely.

I wouldn't mess with a house key to set it. Honestly, they should just include the required Allen key. Those things are stupid cheap.

The internal magnets suck the Allen key into the socket head. Really, the magnets suck anything metal against the entire buffer.
