Re: Jerry Miculek - the future of buffers
Somewhere along the line I made a video with the JP silent, running it through 6 different AR's from carbine to midlength, to rifle, each with a standard spring and a JP so you could hear the difference. I'm thrilled with mine. I'm certainly going to try one of these once the reviews come back here.

Re: Jerry Miculek - the future of buffers
My buffer shipped and as luck would have it, won't be delivered until Monday. I wanted to shoot on Sunday but I guess I could go after work Monday or Tuesday.

Re: Jerry Miculek - the future of buffers
So... I'm not sure. Here's why.
I have the proper 8mm Allen key.
But the first one (carbine) i got had no thread locker of any type. I was told you can use blue if you want but that the screw shouldn't back out because it is always under tension.
The second one i got (h1) has some sort of red marking in the threads. Not sure if it is machining dye or what. It took a little more force to get there set screw to move. But once it moved, it now moves freely.
I wouldn't mess with a house key to set it. Honestly, they should just include the required Allen key. Those things are stupid cheap.
The internal magnets suck the Allen key into the socket head. Really, the magnets suck anything metal against the entire buffer.
