Reading the opinion it looks like they used a "common usage" argument.
Common usage = everyone needs to buy semi automatics and mags even if it's not your thing. If you're a revolver collector, buy an AR and just never shoot it if you don't want. You're still contributing to the stats.

We need to push for legalizing automatics.

Everyone needs to hold their horses on the celebration. The California Attorney General will likely appeal this decision and request an en banc hearing by the entire 9th Circuit, where is is possible that the decision will be overturned. If it's overturned, the plaintiff's can and probably will appeal to the Supreme Court, which may decide not to hear the case....all this sound familiar?

I really don't see them surrendering without a fight on this. Magazine capacity limits are the gun grabbers bread and butter.

Now they'll use the precedent that it's not in common usage.

It is in the military. Why should they have something civilians can't?

Hey, I get it. You and me both know what the 2nd is supposed to mean. They have no clue.

"Common usage" while helpful in this case is still wrong.

The concepts held by the framers were that civilians have weapons sufficient to form a military component if and when necessary. The argument that they were dealing with single-shot flintlocks is incorrect. The framers were aware of private gunsmiths already developing auto-fed arms.

I have to wonder how one circuit court can rule differently than another. How do they reconcile the reasoning. Or don't they have to?
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

I want to see a challenge based on the 1934 fun control act.

Sbrs are standard issue. Every combat unit has multiple rifles that have silencers. The standard issue army shotgun had a barrel that is about 3 or 4 inches long.

The court upheld it as being lawful because those weapons had no purpose for the militia because they had no military purpose.

    Seems clear they do now.

Some bad news to this. That is if vendors do start selling over ten rounds magazines to CA residents who were legally deprived of them for the last 3 decades, expect a shortage.
