Default Do you shoot your new gun first day?

When I treat myself to a new firearm, I usually go to the range right after paying for it at the gun store.
Do you shoot your new gun right after purchasing? If not how long do you usually wait?

I don*t have a *waiting period*, but I*ve never gone right from the store or gun show, straight to the gun range.

I normally take mine home, field strip it, clean it, test out the magazines with inert rounds, fit a holster etc... I usually make it to the range within a day or two.

Usually not that same day, but definitely within the same week. I think only once did I buy a gun and shoot it on the same day.

Yeah, pretty much the same day... or at worst the next day.

I only did once, and that was in the FFL's garage. He had a few .32 ACPs laying around.

Not saying who but he's near Doylestown and is a POOFER.

This is my thought also. I always clean off the assembly oil/ lubes before I shoot it.
