I'm just getting back into it now, got probably 5k of 45acp brass to reload, already resized, decapped, clean and tumbled. Got two unopened jugs of Bullesye, couple of 5 year old boxes of CCI primers to start. Then I'll tackle the 8mm, .308 and a few boxes of 30-06 brass to get things cleaned up. If the ammo looks bad you either toss it, or get a unloading hammer and take the rounds apart.

Something got on those cartridges. Brass will slowly tarnish evenly and slowly get darker to a point then slow down or stop. No matter how humid it is. I somehow ended up with a single 9mm cartridge before I had a 9. I tossed it in a box on my reloading bench and it has been there at least 25 years. I just looked at it and it has some patina but no corrosion or pitting. I also have a few loose rounds of 30-06 that were loaded in WWII and were stored mostly in the open in a cardboard box since I had them. Again just a darker patina but no corrosion.

If there is any doubt....don't shoot it. "He saved 85 cents" would look funny on a headstone.
