Almost make me want to throw mine back in. Nice. Congrats to one of your good friends on that one.

I still love ya (in a non-submariner kind of way)!

I would have loved to tag it myself, but I was busy mowing fields. When my buddy first came down to find me he was letting it sit and hadn't tracked it yet, and said it was a big 6 point. When we found it 100 yards into the woods we were both astonished.

Right away the monster 8 came walking out of some thick stuff heading right towards me. He turned and took a path that ended up putting him 55 yrds away broadside. It was foggy and my crossbow scope was fogged so it was hard to see if I had a clear shot. I grunted again. He started off at an angle to come around the back of my stand. While I was trying to turn around and get lined up for a shot, the seat of my climber dropped. It was LOUD. He stopped and looked in my direction for a few minutes then turned and slowly walked away. I never cinched down the straps on my climber seat and it probably cost me the biggest buck of my life. After that I seen two spikes, two four pointers and three doe. I also got a picture of a massive 5 pt on my trail cam I had setup on a nearby scrape. I was pretty bummed out but it was still one of the best days I've ever had hunting. The most deer and biggest buck I ever seen bow hunting. I've been back a few times and didn't see anything. I'm going to set up a couple cameras this week in some areas close by and see if anything is still around.

    Here's that 5 pt.Attachment 139366
Seems like no matter how much you do things you always learn something you could*ve done better. Damn Shame the lesson was on possibly the best buck of your life.

Wow, hope he can get a shoulder mount for that beast! And hopefully he passed on his genes to lots of doe out there for you in future years.

It's ok. It was a great day hunting. I still have rifle and late archery. I found another spot with some rubs bigger than my thigh. There are a lot of big bucks out there. I'll get one eventually.

None of the guys I know have shot or even seen bears.
2 areas. Somerset and Forest counties.

Archery deer is still ongoing in 2B but once again,no reports of success.

I'm heading to the Tionesta area on Friday with my good friend and his 2 kiddos, only one of which is a hunter.

So, going up, 4 guys but 2 hunters. I will be the shanty bitch again.
Cooking, cleanup, baking a pie, etc etc.

Menu will be pork loin with kraut and mashed potatoes.
Steaks with oven baked French fries.
Hamburgers, hot dogs and ill make some macaroni salad.
Turkey noodle soup with leftover turkey & trimmings.

Buying bacon so BFs will be eggs, French toast. Maybe a morning of omelettes.

Hopefully, the hunting spirits will shine on my brothers and ey will also score something for the freezer.

Buddy got a 7 point up there last year.
