Does anybody catch and dispatch invasive birds? Starlings?

Never see starlings where I live. Don't get grackles either. Tons of doves, blue jays, cardinals, finches, gold and purple, red bellied woodpeckers, downy woodpeckers, indogo buntings, occasional rufus towees but for some reason the chickadees and titmice have been MIA. Think maybe the numerous blue jays keep the annoying black/type birds away. OMG I think the blue jays are racist.
Side note: Two squirrels went on vacation today.

Seems kind of pricey to catch a few starlings. Just use some crab traps instead.

Crab traps? Really? I've never heard of anybody doing that. And it is more than a few. Sometimes it is 2 dozen at a time.

We get grackles here. But maybe one or two at a time. They leave the other birds alone. Starlings are noisy and aggressive.

Starlings were eating a block of suet a day, they were like vultures. It seems like they let up and don*t like the suet I*m putting out now.

Common grackles are native species, Starlings are not native and are a destructive invasive species. English sparrows are also non native invasive species. These aggressively attack other native songbirds species resulting in lower populations of finches, catbirds, mockingbirds, brown thrashers et al.
I suggest a Crosman 1400 pellet rifle

According to the PGC's website, the only limitation on shooting English Starlings is a prohibition during the deer seasons, otherwise no closed season and no limit.

Feeding birds brings birds. I see hawks sit and watch bird feeders. I only feed in wintertime and don't have a starling problem. Starlings may be dirty, but they eat a heck of a lot of bugs. They really work the yard over after I mow. Every year I sit on the front porch and see less and less birds. The other day I saw a hawk glide past with a bird. Maybe it is not the starlings. Maybe it is hawks, owls, cats, and disease.
