Weird Request for info on STENCILS
In addition to wanting to redo the address on my mailbox, I'm searching for a stenciling kit that has 1" or so letters, a guide so that they line up perfectly and some kind of link-together system so they are spaced properly. I'll end up numbering about a hundred ammo cans, in addition to my garbage cans and mailbox. Anyone have experience with this, and can recommend what to purchase?
Weird request, I know.....

Re: Weird Request for info on STENCILS
Not too weird at least in my judgement since I've considered similar systems. Never actually bought or ended up using these but they are in my Amazon save for later cart:

There are several variants on Amazon and I'm sure other places. They all get luke warm ratings on the "lock together" feature.
I'm curious too if anyone has better options.

Stick-on letters. Paint area one color , lay out numbers/letters in desired sequence & position , paint entire box any color ya want , peel off characters.

Re: Weird Request for info on STENCILS
I have a few different size stencil. I use them as a template because they get gunked up or paint will run under the stencil. I lay down some painters tape and trace o the letter. I then cut out the letters with a razor blade.
But if you have a bunch of things to label I would get a label maker.troll Free. It's all in your mind.

Here's a 3/4" that should do the job.

Re: Weird Request for info on STENCILS
If you're going to be doing that many items, I'd use a metal (usually brass) interlocking stencil kit.
Set it up once and go to town. I checked amazon, the smallest size I saw was 2".
Should go under $30It is difficult to free fools from the chains they revere. Voltaire

You could always go with a gadget like this:

and let me know if it works and, if so, let me borrow it. :-)
