lets see your mosin build me and a buddy are working on a pretty much shot m 38 need ideas for a build

Nothing special really. It was a good shooter with iron sights, so I put a scope on it. It's the ATI kit. I had a guy I work with TIG the bolt handle on for me just to make me feel a little better about it though. Had the receiver drilled by a machinist to make sure it was straight. When I put my boresighter on it, it was almost dead-on.

Fun gun to shoot, but hurts after 50rds without a recoil pad.

nice we started wroking on the stock for his m 38 lots of bondo but were thinking cammo it it was hacked up and broken so anything is an improvement... i can only handle about 40 rounds out of my m-44 and the steal buttplate

I just did a quick google search and found a screw-on rubber pad that replaces the steel buttplate. I'll do some looking around to find the cheapest one, but here is one of the places I found selling it:

Might be worth a shot to make the gun more fun to shoot.

cool beans i love mosin projects "built" a few for friends brought some bubba'd ones to life put back together an m-44 for myself i just love these rifles in any condition. you can always make something fun to shoot of a mosin...... i could go for buying another one or two please post pics on any mosin project. we ended up spraying the stock a flat royal blue color on my buddys 38 it looks neat

I polished the bolt on my M44 and did a little trigger job.

Polished the sear and bent the bar it was attached to. Lightened the pull and made it nice and smooth.
