Wire cage box trap, appropriately sized. Drop open bottom cardboard box over trapped skunk in trap. Run hose from vehicle exhaust to box. Ten minutes to dead, non spraying skunk. Dispose in trash bags at the curb.

He did this for several skunks until the herd was cleared out. He saved mucho bucks over having a pest control service remove the skunks.
That actually seems like a reasonable humane way to deal with it.

Unrelated, i wonder how good all of that back pressure is for a car exhaust in a modern vehicle. In my case, you are talking about restricting the exhaust and then running it through 50' of hose.

They don't always spray when they're shot.

Subsonic .22lr fired from under a vehicle while a rototiller runs at full throttle nearby works well for masking the gunshot works well, so I've heard.

Why are you keeping a stinky blanket? I’ll send you a new one if things are that bad.

It got rinsed out in the rain and it's in the garage. Doesn't stink so much now.

I have used truck exhaust and it works well. Now, I tie a 1/4* hose to the trap, and after the catch is made, I turn on the nitrogen cylinder that the hose is attached to. Because of science, the nitrogen gas coming out of the regulator is about 20f cooler than ambient. Who doesn*t like a nice cool breeze in the face, especially when you are trapped in a cage? Two breaths, and it*s Deep Sleep time!

We feed the skunks cat food. They come and eat, and leave. Never a problem. It's fun to watch. Opossums, cats, everything backs off and waits for the skunk to finish. Skunk rules.

Get rid of the grubs in your yard and the skunks will leave.

After you catch it, put it to good use. Take the bagged carcass to the nearest "protest" aka riot. Go in stealth mode wearing a BLM shirt and place it near the center point of rally, label the bag "Rocks".
