Default Re: Allegheny County Sheriff's Office over 100 day waiting period to renew a LTCF!!!!

I just went to the Northampton County sheriff's dept this morning to renew my LTCF. Walked into the courthouse at 8:35, was walking out at 9:05. No appointment, no wait. They did say it would probably take the full 45 days to receive my card because they have been very busy. But nothing like the horror stories you folks seem to have. Sheesh...

    Northampton county population 300,000

    Allegheny county population 1,300,000

I would assume the Allegheny county sheriff's have a few more LTCF's to process.

I'm assuming they have the civilian staff doing that work, not sheriff's deputies.

They have one office, the size of my first floor, in the courthouse for processing LTCF.

Yeah, it's not big enough for the three people I saw behind the counter last time.
Most mom and pop pizza places that only offer takeout have more standing room at the counter than the area where YOU stand at the sheriff's office.

Then they need to staff up appropriately. I'm sure the LTCF process is not the only responsibility they have that is connected to legal time requirements. "Understaffed" is not a valid reason for not getting their duties done as the law requires.
