Been a long time since I played with suppressors, but all the advice here is sound. It better be dead nut straight or you risk a slug coming out the side of the suppressor. Not rumor, saw it happen on an early open bolt MAC-11.

Well, took the adapter to the gunsmith today and explained my half-baked idea. Turns out he thinks it’s baked better than most of my ideas. He even decided to use the same thread pitch as I first thought, 5/8x24, rather than my later idea of using 1/2x28 because it will better retain the strength of the adapter. He’s going to set it up on his lathe by first making a length of M14x1L thread stock to align it and do the mods.

I’m waiting on a custom front sight for a Hi Power he’s been upgrading for me, so I’ll wait until the pistol
Is ready to pick up the reworked adapter. A couple of weeks probably.

    It’s looking pretty positive.
