    Default Gettysburg

A great day in Gettysburg on the 4th met so many Patriots and true Americans. The law enforcement was 1st class and I really appreciated them being there. From the regular people to the motorcycle clubs and all the other militia's and the 3% group and everyone else.

I was thanked by everyone that walked by and it was awesome.

I felt like I had a purpose and was needed.

Flocking to our national battlefields on July 4 should be a positive action for remembrance of those who fought and died for their perspective of freedom, even if we 'now' think some of their ideas 'then' were distorted or crazy.

I happened to be at Gettysburg on July 4, much earlier than the 'event', contemplating just what happened there 157 years ago. In fact, I hadn't even heard that the 'event' was going to happen.

From the beginning, this country has had an ongoing debate about what Freedom actually means. The Declaration of Independence outlined some very lofty perspectives on Freedom. Those lofty ideas were later particularized in the U.S. Constitution.

Since then, the Constitution has served as a guideline for laws (and government action) in this country that should respect the Rights enumerated there and should pay allegiance to that concept Freedom.

    From the Post article:
A man had entered the cemetery wearing a Black Lives Matter T-shirt. The man, Trent Somes, later told The Post he was visiting the grave of an ancestor, not protesting. A seminarian and associate pastor at First United Methodist Church in Hanover, Pa., Somes said a crowd of about 50 people surrounded him and aggressively questioned him about his shirt.

*I didn*t do anything to them,* he said.

Police arrived and encouraged Somes to leave.

*For his own safety, federal law enforcement made the decision to remove him, and he was escorted out of the cemetery,* Jason Martz, acting public affairs officer for Gettysburg National Military Park, later said.
If you are for the principles of this country, which principles demand freedom, then it must extend to those with whom you disagree.

One of the traditional principles of laws based on freedom, is that the laws are to be based on actual acts that violate those principles - Not simply talking about unpopular or unlawful acts. Criminality should only attend actual violation of someone's Rights.

We have far too many 'recent' laws based on maybes and mights rather than actual violative acts. We have 'recent' laws about offending people, known as Hate Speech, that violates the principles of free speech. No side of the political or ideological spectrum should have the power to violate the Rights of others, of different ideas or political perspective, simply on the basis of disagreement.

This guy deserved to be there, to be unmolested, to exercise his American freedom, just as anyone of the 'protecting group' had a right to be there advocating their cause. In this case, he wasn't even there to protest or advocate a cause. I think his Rights were violated in this case (if it is as told in the story).

For a long time I have been expressing my concern about allowance of acts that do violate the Rights of others, carried out by the leftist socialist anarchists, becoming so prevalent that the opposite side of the spectrum, rightist capitalist conservatives, will take up the same means to confront the former. This is not appropriate behavior for any perspective.

The means and methods of the anarchists - Berating, Bullying, Intimidation - cannot benefit America. Violation of the principles of Freedom in America cannot be used in fighting 'for' America - That, too, damages the very nature of the country.

Evil has always created a quandary for The Good, in that it fights dirty. Evil needs to be exposed and resisted. But HOW that is done is just as important as THAT it is done. Corrupting the country with evil means will simply lead to the eventual embrace of evil more generally. It may be trite, but it is true - Power corrupts - and absolute Power corrupts Absolutely.

Yet another reason to finally make my initial trip to Gettysburg....Gettysburg Museum has all kinds of rare Nazi war trophies including stuff worn, owned or used by Hitler himself...and like the guy in the video keeps reminding...interesting only for its historical value!

Go eat at the Dobbins House if you get a chance. Been there with relatives and thought it was good.

If you live less than 2 hours from Gettysburg, and have never been there, but the presence of Nazi memorabilia has solidified your decision to finally visit, you may want to examine your motivations.

You must have missed "yet another reason" and "for historical value."

No, I didn't. I wouldn't go to Gettysburg to see Nazi memorabilia any sooner than I would go to see it anywhere else. I especially wouldn't go to see it in Gettysburg, where so many gave their lives in favor of the truth that ALL men are created equal, almost 80 years prior to the Nazi regime's attempt to prove that all whites are superior to any others fell on it's fucking face. It has zero value, historical or otherwise.

Maybe you should contact the Gettysburg museum curators and demand they rid themselves of all their worthless racist historical artifacts...because...white supremacy.
