Default Permitless Carry and Wolf's Endless Emergency Declarations

Joshua Prince informed us a long time ago about Wolf's now never ending stream of Emergency Declarations and the impact on carry without a permit. Now it is making some news. Apparently there is a bill passed in the House and now in the Senate that would fix this.

Fortunately (I suppose), the monarchy that can be imposed under the guise of "Emergency" has become so over-reaching thanks to COVID, that even non-gun people are pissed. There are other processes that have started to make drastic changes to that whole process. I believe the most significant will actually result in a change to our Constitution if it succeeds.

Striking 6107 is a good first step. I'm concerned that it didn't pass with enough votes to override a veto. Supporters are saying Wolf will sign it, because he said early on in the opiod deal that gun owner's wouldn't be caught up in the technicalities. Of course, that same logic could be used by Wolf to veto ("It's not being enforced anyway, and there may be other times when enforcement would be proper.").

I'm at the point where I take my cue from those in power and just obey the laws I like, and ignore the ones I don't.

I'm not optimistic about Wolf signing it. Is it a bill on its own or an amendment to an existing bill? It's too much to include the bill number in the article, I guess.

It's a bill on it's own. HB 1747, already passed by the House and sent to the Senate. It literally just removes the entirety of 6107 and nothing more/less. If you click through to the actual text, everything highlighted in gray would be removed from law.

That has no chance of getting past Wolf. If only we could muster enough votes for an override...

He could simply not sign it as well and after a week or whatever timeframe, it becomes law. He did that with some other pro gun bill that passed Congress.

Thanks, I know at least one sensitive Rep, who I can follow on it.

ETA: And my 'pal' Joe Ciresi voted 'nay' on it. I can't wait 'til the next time he brags about being pro 2A.

My Rep voted for it. Will be anxious to see how RINO Senator Baker votes if it gets that far.
