Re: Troopers shoot and kill man in Monroe County
Their split second decision was to not wait for a deputy, because he may take awhile to arrive. If they waited for the deputy do you think things may have been different?
You stated earlier that a deputy would have returned her fire and shot her. You tend to assume the most negative aspect. Maybe if they waited for a deputy, he would have knocked on the door (assuming unlike the FF’s), really loud with his nightstick, because the lady was almost deaf and all of this would have ended better.

Because everyone must depend on the state for all things at all times dontcha'know.
How dare she be allowed to look after herself! She could get hurt! Or forget her meds! She should absolutely be imprisoned in a state run home of rape, abuse, and death for her own safetly before she kills someone!
AND WHO IN THE HELL GAVE THIS POOR FRAGILE OLD WOMAN A DAMN ASSAULT PISTOL! SHE COULD HAVE KILLED HERSELF WITH IT OR HER GRANDKIDS COULD HAVE FOUND IT! And the thing that goes up! DONT YOU SEE, ITS FOR HER SAFETY AND THE CHILDREN! WHAT IF THE ROACHES FOUND IT AND CORNPOPPED HER!?

Re: Troopers shoot and kill man in Monroe County
Why didn't the daughter open the front door with her key and go in herself? Why did she need the EMS/Fire Dept, Sheriff and all those expensive pieces of equipment to show up if she was able to be at the property? Why did they need to go through a window if the daughter was there? Sounds to me a huge clusterfuck. I can see a daughter being concerned and asking for a welfare check and being far away but according to the article the daughter was right there.
I used to have to check on my Mother and one day she didn't answer the phone. I began calling in the morning but by the afternoon I was beginning to get concerned. I tried one more time but no answer. I left work and rushed over there and came through the front door hurriedly using my key much to her surprise as she was watching her afternoon soaps. I immediately checked the phone a sure enough the ringer was turned down. Mom asked what the heck I was doing there instead of being at work and I just laughed and explained that I had been trying to call her since the morning. I told her not to turn the ringer off but if it got that bad with the spam calls make sure to call me and let me know she was turning the ringer off and that she was OK.Corruption is the default behavior of government officials. How do you know she was incompetent? Do you know what the mother/daughter relationship was like? It*s great that your relationship with your mother was good. Not all families have that and as some people get older they get more protective and sometimes suspicious of their family, either because of mental or actual real issues.
