Unloaded shotgun is ok in trunk right?
Can I drive around with an unloaded Mossberg 500 in the trunk right now in PA? It would be in an unlocked softcase with a box of buckshot in a separate bin in the trunk.
Sorry, I used to know all the laws off the top of my head, and having a shotgun and ammo separate like that used to be ok. But I don’t know with this state of emergency stuff going in, I just wanted to check. I used to have a LTCF so this was never an issue bc I would carry pistols, but I let it lapse years ago.

Yup. except it doesn't have to be in the trunk, in a case, or ammo separate, just not loaded. Nothing in chamber or mag tube.

Piggyback question: Does an unloaded long gun even need to be cased in a vehicle if no ammo for it is in the vehicle?

I've always been under the impression that carrying any long gun , even unloaded , was a no-no unless going to/from a range or hunt.
But perhaps not.

Long Guns
(These are rifles that have a barrel 16* or longer, and shotguns that have a barrel 18* or longer.)
1.) An individual who may legally possess can carry an unloaded long gun in his/her car.
2.) An individual who does or does not have a valid License to Carry Firearms (LTCF) cannot carry a loaded long gun in his/her car.I don't speak English , I talk American!
