Those two are going to have A LOT of time to think about their life choices. I was in a fairly serious accident May 2019 that only broke my foot pretty bad, and that injury is nothing compared to what these two sustained, and my life is still screwed up 14 months later. I*m still recovering from a third surgery as I type. Those two are going to be jacked up for life. I doubt during all their reflecting time, however, that they*ll ever reached the point of self awareness where they*ll lay any of the blame rightly on themselves.

They got what they wanted. The gov (us) to take care of them the rest of their lives.

Legal Question: Would the driver in this case use recently past instances of people blocking highways, assaulting, and shooting drivers as a defense? Seeing people blocking the road, you don't know what's going to happen, and if you were following recent news, you most certainly could be in fear for your life because there are people blocking the road.
