I received a renewal letter on February 23. Said you can renew 2 months before it expires. The letter was 2 weeks before my expiration date. Got another letter on 3/5. Not bad for a Democrat Sheriff. Renew in person or on line. On line has a $5 fee and a $1 something credit card fee. Applied online 3/14 and got an email today that it was approved. Went this afternoon and had my picture taken. No wait. PA's LTCF is really crummy compared to other states.

That $1 fee might be illegal, when I renewed mine last year I don't remember paying. Back a few years ago I remember a lawsuit where people were being charged a fee not expressly permitted by law and after the suit the refund was issued.

I renewed last year or so, it was 3 months expired, the new one says new, not renew.

It was a credit card processing fee for the online company. Sheriff only got the $20. Don't know if that matters.

The process is for sure, and with zero consistency in Delco over the years. However the cost, which we shouldn't have at all, is a hell of a lot better than a lot of other states that require such a document.

Got another letter yesterday dated 3/8. I had already picked up my LTCF. Looks like the sheriff really wanted me to renew.

1). How the fuck is a utility bill a form of identification?

2). Even if you are anti-phone, it is helpful to put important dates to remind you of stuff on your calendar.
