Default Hold-open follower causing problem in AK mag?

Bought and installed three hold-open followers. Yesterday, firing my WASR 10/63, I was getting bullet tip jam at the bottom ledge of the ramp (Wolf Military Classic 124gr). The mag is an eastern bloc make that never gave feed problems before. Posting as an ask and as info if anyone is contemplating purchasing the followers (3 for $20).

Do the other half of the experiment and put the original followers back in the mags and test fire.

If those are the primary arms/weapon tech BHO followers I have many and never an issue. If I remember correctly they are exactly the same dimensions as the Yugoslavian BHO followers.

Is there a chance the spring was installed backwards?

I guard against that happening. I looked for it when I took it apart, and can say no. Upper and lower cut-offs face foreward.

No feed problems from the Hungarian mag after changing back to stock lifter. Out of curiosity I had installed a bolt stop lifter in a grey Korean mag, and it too ran fine. I have a Hungarian that I've physically cut down to ten rounds and it's been good with a bolt stop. Guess there is something about that one mag that didn't like the bolt-stopping follower.
